The VISCO official release of The Venture Information System version 2.5.0  is slated for delivery to all Network and Web-hosted Customers by December 12th and 13th, 2005. Based on customer demands, requests and suggestions, we have enhanced the functionality of a major portion of the system while continuing to address the issues of our customers.

Included in this VISCO release is the following enhanced functionality:

Inquiries (Beta) -  The tracking of all inquiries from Customers, Potential Customers and interested parties about products within the VIS database. An inquiry can turn into an offer, or a quote (not available in beta) or be stored individually as a simple request for info from a customer. For a full description on Inquiries functionality, consult your Implementation Specialist. 

Offers (Beta) -  A Product Offer received from any VIS Vendor, can be traced back to its original manufacturer and sourcer (buyer) associated with the Offer. A VIS user can now create an Offer document, Target Price Estimates, and multiple price terms for each offer. An Offer can also turn into (multiple) Quotes. For a full description on Offers functionality, consult your Implementation Specialist. 

Quotes  -  The creation of a "preliminary sale" enabling the user to track all the quotes they deliver to a customer, and a status (accepted, declined, expired etc.) for that quote. The functionality nearly mimics that of current Sales Order Entry, but without requiring entry of all the information. A quote document can also be created. For a full description on Quotes functionality, consult your Implementation Specialist. 

Export your Scans, Reports, and Filters to MS Excel with one click!  -  A VIS User now has the ability to click the Excel Icon (or button) and auto-export the results of any scan, report or filter in the system. This tool can be used for enhanced reporting, and does not affect any data in the database.

Edit a PO Number  - During PO Assign, a VIS user can create their own PO number. They will still be restricted not to replicate PO numbers, or use alpha characters in their PO number.

Memo Fields for Custom Fields  -  The option is now available to have your custom fields (those after the documents and images section in each entity in VIS) appear and store as memo fields with virtually unlimited storage for information.

Auto Convert Quantities from PO/SO Copy  -  We can now run an auto-conversion of any quantity during a PO -> SO copy or an SO -> PO copy. If you buy a product in KG, and sell it in LB - we'll convert it for you automatically. The intuitive interface makes it easy to auto-convert between any of the units of measure available in the system.

*REMINDER: If your unit of measure conversions are not up to date, you will not be able to use the VIS auto-convert features. Check System Settings to adjust your unit of measure conversions.

 And Many More  -  A redesign of the "Quick Task" Menu, Cost Distribution "By Accrual," Cost Entry Batch Date Selection, Gross Margin Report per Back-to-Back Invoice, "Include All" option from Purchase History and several others.
